Nanny State

Last year (August 2008), thanks to Nanny Pelosi and her push to create a Nanny State a law (Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act) was passed that requires extensive testing of anything child related, toys, clothes, books, etc; anything that might end up in the hands of children. It is an overreaction to the Chinese import toys that contained trace amounts of lead. As a result of the act - and everyone with half a brain cell - not Pelosi of course - knew this would happen - the government can now fine anyone that holds a yard sale if the children's items have not been fully tested. You know what they say - Stupid is, as Stupid does, and Pelosi and company epitomize this approach to social engineering and interference in our lives. I wonder if the law applies to hand-me-down toys and clothes?? Hummm, now that would be interesting!!!
